If you’ve been surfing YouTube lately, you might have heard some familiar voices in a pre-roll ad. You’re not just hearing things: six members of The Uptones recorded some music that’s currently running under Crate and Barrel’s holiday advertisements! Take a listen below.
Oh hey! We recorded our WHOLE concert just for YOU. If you missed it, don’t worry. Grab some snacks, perhaps some libations, and cuddle up on your couch for a riveting performance. It will be just like you were there. Enjoy!
Winter is coming (is here?), and your favorite Chicago a cappella group is back with a full slate of brand-new songs in a brand-new venue: Lakeview’s Second Unitarian Church of Chicago. It’s still BYOB, so feel free to bring some beverages (beer and wine only). $5 suggested donation.

That’s right, friends. The Uptones have gone camping together. We actually left our heated, comfortable, functional, lovely homes in Chicago to travel together in the wild. We’re talking straight out of a Bill Bryson novel. Wood fires, no showers, hiking miles for food supplies, fishing, BEARS.
JUST KIDDING. There were no bears. Except for on the occasional garment. Also we might have stayed in a condo. On the beach. Still counts, right?? Just look at that view.
After a great deal of patio-singing (hey, Jim, whatchu doin there?)…
…and ice-cream eating (don’t worry only AFTER the singing)…
..and un-pictured Whitney-belting, Pitch-Perfect-watching, yoga, and horizontal running…
we feel pretty ready for an awesome new season. We might even actually all like each other.
Camping (let’s be honest) Glamping success!
For the first time ever, you can see and hear the Uptones in a real, sit-down theater! We’re happy to return to Studio Be for a full-length concert. The change in venue does mean we have to do things a little differently, and this time around we’d like to suggest a $5 donation to help us cover the cost of the space.
Good news! The venue is BYOB, so bring your friends and your gin and tonic, or your beer, or your mint julep – it is Derby season, after all – and take in Chicago’s very own a cappella group like you’ve never heard them before.
Set yourself a reminder: RSVP to the Facebook event.
